Ear infections are the result of a cold or flu sicknesses, swimming without ear plugs, going into high altitudes and bottle fed infants. These are all cause where excess fluid blocks the eustachian tube, leading to congestion and fluid buildup in the middle ear.
Natural Remedies:
Keep ears warm and person resting with head slightly elevated
Swallowing will help ease pain
Yawning helps open up the eustachian tube
Blow warm air toward the ear, from a hair dryer 18-30 inches from it
Bake a large onion until it becomes soft and tie it over the ear. This will give relief when pain is severe
Mix a tsp echinacea, goldenseal, and licorice root (for flavor) to boiling water. Drink 3 times a day.
Go on a brief fruit and vegetable juice fast
Take vitamin C (500 mg, 3 times a day)
Place olive oil in the ear, then add a drop or two of lobelia tincture.
Place a few drops of garlic juice in the ear, then add a drop or two of lobelia tincture.
