"For the life of the flesh is in the blood..." Lev. 17:11

Blood represents life. Blood carries nourishment, strength, and warmth to every part of the body, and carries away all that harms and destroys. In like manner, the blood of Jesus through his sacrifice represents life to the sin sick soul. Romans 6:23, tells us that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. God's gift, if received through obedience of his word , is to free us from our just reward because of sin-death.
